I've Been...

Very busy these last couple weeks.  Want a peek at what I have been up to?

That's right.  Once again I am taking all the furniture out of my first floor.

Even emptied out the kitchen.

Put it all in the dining room.

Did I mention that this is not the first time this year I have done this?  It's getting rather old but I am not complaining, as my floors are finally getting finished.

Whew!  I am tired just looking at these pics!  Sorry I haven't been all that great with the posts, but who can spend time on the computer when their house looks like this?

I'll be back when I get everything all cleaned up.  That feels like it will be a couple of years.  I'll try and hurry!

Thanks for being such wonderful bloggy friends.

  1. Oh my gosh! You have been busy, the floors will be beautiful when your finished I just know it. Before I forget, I LOVE that sweet window above the fireplace! I thought at first that maybe all of the furniture was on the lawn and it was time for another fun party! Nope, just a floor refinishing party! Have fun :) Theresa

  9. Girl, you'd better hope those floors are COMPLETELY dry before those little feet come running through your house. Are you crazy?? No, actually, that's why Annie affectionately calls you Auntie Cake. I have a relationship like that with my niece. There isn't anything I wouldn't do for her. She's like my 2nd daughter.
Those little dolls are so precious. That's a whole lot of work, I hear you. Especially when your house is in an uproar!! I had a Hunchback of Notre Dame Party when Meghan turned 6. Esmeralda came an painted faces and they made tambourines. I made a harlequin painted table a la Home Depot. The men in the lumber section know me very well!! For seats I got the white contractor buckets with orange lids and put purple diamonds on the bucket. Inside each of the 13 buckets were Esmeralda costumes I made for each of the girls. They all had a blast! I'll tell you the work you do for them. Any crafty mom knows, her kids think that's just the way it is. Doesn't every mom do this???? Ha only the crazy ones!!! Double Ha!!
Good luck getting your house back together. Look at the bright side, you got out of cooking for a while :)

Thanks for your sweet comments about my girl. You and that sister of yours are just the best (and sweetest)
Just think next year Sweet Little Bluebird will be graduating at this time. Can you believe it?? Enjoy her while you can, time flies so quickly.

Talk to you again soon. Don't go crazy with your house, I'm sure it will all come together shortly....and look smashing :)Waiting for pictures!!
    Have a great day!!
    XoXo

  17. I remember doing that at our old house. Ugh. It was a lot of work. You know that it will be worth it though, don't you? You'll have to take more photos and show us when it's done.

In the meantime, hang in there and enjoy letting someone else do the cooking for a change!

  21. Hey Ms Kate! I hope you're past the work now and recuperating. I know you must be worn out. I couldn't remember if you had a game this weekend or not. Do you think now that schools out your life will slow down a little or just get that much busier? I really, really don't know where you get the energy to do so much.

Hope tomorrow (today) is a peaceful and restful day for you. You do so much for everyone else, you need a little pampering too.

    xxoo's...Tracy :)
