The Magic Words

can make everything all right...

My son sold his dirtbike today.
I am sad.
It has made loads of people smile.
Whenever we have company, it is in constant use.
I can still hear the giggling of my nephew Bo, as my son gives Bo a ride and does a wheelie across the lawn.
Bo hangs on for dear life but laughs the entire time.

But today, even though I am still irritated that he sold it.
The dirtbike made me happy one last time.

As I walked away, the man he sold it to asked my 17 year old son,

"Is that your sister?"

  2. Wow. I don't ever think I'll hear those words spoken to any of my children unless someone is trying to sell me something. ;)

  3. I am sure you look young enough to have that said!! DID your son answer the question for you?
I have to ask though, "were you giving him the evil eye for buying the bike?" :)

  4. LOVE THAT!!! I bet he will find a new toy to entertain Bo and the rest of the cousins, I'm sure that can't be too difficult :)
It's a good thing it's gone though, you have a hard enough time racing me down the hill on a bicycle! t.xoxoxo

  8. What a wonderful compliment to hear! It's hard to move on when change comes. I feel that this last year has brought so much change. I haven't been able to come up for air from all of it.

    Wishing you the best weekend!
