Getting Ready for Christmas

After a very busy week, (one hospital stay, laid hardwood floors in living room, company, one hockey tournament, plus Thanksgiving) I am desperately trying to get ready for Christmas. Yesterday, I took out all our decorations.  They are now lying all around our house.  I think my husband secretly thinks I am trying to finish him off.  The poor guy has been stumbling around nativity scenes, Santas, and snowmen, since last night.  I am hoping to get it straightened up today.  Wish me luck...

This morning I found this on Little Fireman's pillow.  At least some of us are having fun.  I will explain what exactly that is tomorrow.  Today I need to do some serious... something.  Cleaning, putting away, straightening, you name it.

I have enjoyed looking at all your beautifully decorated houses.  I am envious, mine looks like this...

And this...

My fireplace looks like this.

I don't think Santa is going to want to come down it anytime soon...

I hope you all enjoy a great day in your clean and beautifully decorated houses.  Right now, I don't even know where to start in on mine!

  1. I have no doubt that by the end of the day- the mess will look like a wintery/Christmas wonderland- with more Santas than one could imagine!

  2. I LOVE your sewing machine! My mom has my grandmother's old machine - looks just like yours! How awesome!

Good luck with your decorations! My house is in a state similar to yours, and I'm stuck at work today. In fact, I've got so much going on this week, I'm guessing it'll be close to the weekend before I can make any progress with my stuff!

  5. Why is decorating for Christmas so messy?

Surely, somebody can come up with a plan to make things easier.

    Right?

Well, I'm sure you're going to love the end result.

    Sweet dreams.

  6. How funny and I can so relate with you totally about this post. I have no husband to stumble around my boxes that are waiting for me to start my decorating but my poor kitty has had to figure out where her litter box is hiding.
I do miss someone helping me with putting the tree lights on but they still get done just a little slower.
Enjoyed your sweet comment on my site and I do love yours. I am looking forward to reading more post in the near future.
Happy Deocrating and I know it will be lovely

  7. Keep it simple is my theory. But it all still makes a mess, however, we eventually get it done.

Thanks for taking a peek at my art work and leaving a comment.

  8. Creative people have better things to do than constantly organize. You are in good company. I am sure you will create your Christmas home treasury in no time.

  9. I think you've got a good start! All good decorating projects start out as one big mess, especially Christmas decorating!! I've been (close to being) done for some time now, but I am still vaccuuming up glitter and fake snow on a daily basis...it just seems to reappear like magic!

  11. Thanks for visiting my blog! I love your pictures because I can identify with them... except my home is so much more cluttered, and not ready for the holidays. I have a lot of prep work to do, but I love Christmas so it will be fun. I hope you have a lot of fun doing yours!

    Blessings!
